ICE OWLS vs GEORGINA MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION COACHES Benifit Hockey Game
The Hockey Association Coaches hosted an annual hockey game with the Ice Owls at the Sutton Arena. The Ice Owls are a visually disabled team of fantastic hockey players. The two teams have held this event for several years, with proceeds going to a different charity each year. This year the teams sponsored the Georgina Community Food Pantry; raising a massive donation of $6,195. With only four sighted players on the team, the Ice owls include 13 guys and 1 girl, ages 15 to 71. Formed 29 years ago by two MTHL coaches, the Ice Owls team has done much to change the lives of many of their players and fans. The team plays numerous benefit games to spread the word that blind and visually impaired persons can play ice hockey. For more information visit www.iceowls.ca
