Georgina Blaze Novice AA Silver Stick
The Georgina Blaze Novice AA hockey team travelled to St. Clair Shores, Michigan for the International Mite/Novice Silver Stick Tournament. This team earned their spot at the International Tournament by defeating Ajax 4-3 in the final of the Regional Silver Stick Tournament held in Georgina at the Ice Palace in late November.
A huge part of the off-ice festivities was the pin trading that went on in the arena lobbies and hotel corridors between teams! What an amusing sight to see our players mingling with other teams bartering over the importance of a Blaze pin and what they would want in return for it. We would like to sincerely thank everyone that donated pins to the team which provided them with a tool to meet new friends and create lasting memories.
It is simply not enough to say how proud the parents, families, friends and coaches are of this team. While winning may have been the final destination, it is the journey there that is often forgotten and what an awesome journey these kids paved for themselves to get as far as they did. GO BLAZE GO!!
