Sparks & Brownies 1st Olympics
Sutton 2nd Sparks & Brownies hosted their first ever Olympics. The weather was great for the athletes, family and friends.
Thanks to a Cub Scout that had come to support his sister, they were able to have a fair competition between 4 teams of 3 athletes each. Each team had to compete in 6 challenges and were judged on... speed, team spirit, creativeness and fun-factor. It was a tough competition with two teams tying for first - it was decided by the most wins between the two of them that had the gold team win by one point. The day started as all great Olympic games do, with the athletes walking the field and singing O Canada. The events were a log race, ice bowling, trap pull, free-style jumping, horseshoe toss and a four-legged race! The event ended with the medal ceremony and friends and family gathering for food, warmth of a fire pit and skating.
